With sponsorship from the Islamic Development Bank, CORAF will be organizing a Pre-Forum on ‘ICT for Agriculture’ (ICT4Ag) for 20 mentees in Dakar, Senegal, 18-20 December, 2017.
Participation will be open and competitive, and will be among the 120 selected mentees.
To earn a ticket to the Pre-Forum, please write a short essay on: “How I will use Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in my agribusiness project”.
Conditions of entry:
For the next two mounths, the selected young agricultural entrepreneurs will benefit from mentoring and distance learning courses through a virtual platform from imminent scientists and researchers on agricultural technologies generated under the West Africa Agricultural Productivity Program (WAAPP) as well as successful entrepreneurs from the private sector.
The ambition of the CORAF / WECARD is to demonstrate that products of science can be transformed into sustainable streams of income for young agripreneurs and stimulate technologies adoption through the establishment of incubation centers within its national centers of specialization oriented speculation as Livestock, aquaculture, fruits & vegetables, dry cereals, plantains, roots & tubers, maize and rice. The objective is to have research outputs improve productivity of young agripreneurs with a glimmer hope that they translate into economic gain.
NEYAT has been selected as one of the first initiatives to be presented at the Africa Agribusiness Incubation Conference and Expo 2017 to be held in Dakar, Senegal, from the 8th to the 10th of November.
High on the agenda at this conference is the role of agribusiness incubation and thematic side-events addressing existing bottlenecks to job creation for more youth through agribusiness development in Africa with the guiding theme of “Youth Engagement in Agribusiness Trade and Investment.”
